What we do
Bill Del-Sette, CFP®
Hello, my name is Bill Del-Sette, and I am the owner of Del-Sette Capital Management. I graduated from the University at Albany with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting and economics, and passed all four parts of the uniform CPA exam that same year, a feat accomplished by only one in ten exam takers. After working in public accounting, I found that I needed more personal interaction, so I answered an ad to work as a financial advisor for a large company. After five years I decided to become an independent, business owning advisor, serving in the interest of my clients. I took and passed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® exam in 2004 (learn more about the CFP® designation) and became a dual professional in the fields of financial planning and individual taxation. In May of 2011, I decided to focus my practice on all aspects of retirement planning, from long-term care insurance, retirement related tax planning, and managing retirement investments. I try to live my life based on the principles found in Stephen Covey’s book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”. I enjoy nature, food and personal development, but my primary passion outside of work is photography (and some of my photos can be found here, on Flickr). In my free time I can be found walking the dogs, or on a mountain honing my image making skills.
Barbara joined Del-Sette Capital Management in May 2010. Her dedication and organizational skills have made her a real asset to our team. Barbara grew up in Warrensburg, NY. She worked for Continental Insurance, in Glens Falls, for 18 years, holding various positions of Assigned Risk policy rater, Research Technician, Systems Analyst, and Regional Automation Coordinator. Barbara left Continental in 1996 to become a stay-at-home-mom. Barbara and her husband, Douglas, have been married since 1990, and live in Galway, NY where they built their home on a secluded 85-acre wooded property. Their first child, Andrew, was born in 1996, and a second, Adam, in 2000. Besides taking care of their 2 sons, their home, and the bookkeeping for their trucking business, Barbara makes time to help family members and several elderly friends with their transportation, shopping, and medical needs. Barbara enjoys nature, helping people, working around the house, and organizing large projects. She occasionally tinkers with playing the piano, and enjoys listening to Barbershop quartets, attending their live performances whenever she can.
